Hi! We are a small group of people that meet once a month to discuss different topics that people encounter when they start hosting internet infrastructure and/or services for themselves and others. We put a lot of effort into being welcoming and inclusive to people without any prior knowledge, and in this we find that everybody can contribute and learn something each meeting. ActivityPub is a rather new specification for federated social networking, quite like SMTP for email, and others before and in between.

We want to look into how it works, and what it can do, and then also how this compares to the protocols that came before, what we can learn from it, and how they might be interoperable.
